Hynish is a small settlement located on the southern end of the Isle of Tiree, an island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. The area is historically significant as the shore station and construction base for the Skerryvore Lighthouse, built in the 1840s.

The Signal Tower and other buildings in Hynish were used to support the lighthouse operations and house its workers. Today, these restored buildings form part of the Skerryvore Museum and the Hynish Centre, providing insights into the maritime history of the region and the engineering feat of building Scotland's tallest lighthouse.

The area's cultural heritage is deeply connected to its maritime past and the traditional crofting lifestyle of the Hebridean islands.
