Exhibition 'Into the LIGHT' in Museum Krona

Light projections and icons, installations and reliquaries: the 'In het LICHT' (Into the LIGHT) exhibition connects the experience of light in a special way by connecting medieval art treasures with works by artists such as Olafur Eliasson, Matthijs Munnik, Navid Nuur and Ann Veronica Janssens.

With 'In het LICHT' (Into the LIGHT), Museum Krona is breaking new ground. Not a nativity scene, but a thematic exhibition about the experience and interpretation of light. It brings a whole new type of art to the museum. Light works, photo works and (multimedia) installations by artists such as Marinus Boezem, Suzan Drummen, James Turrell, Olafur Eliasson, Ann Veronica Janssens, Matthijs Munnik, Veerle Thoben, Gabriël Lester and Navid Nuur. They are connected with examples of medieval light mysticism, with panels and manuscripts, with objects of gold, silver and rock crystal, whose brilliance and light reflection carried the viewer along to the true Light, the Higher. The masterpieces include a gem-encrusted cross relic from Hildesheim dating from before 1080.

The exhibition 'In het LICHT' (Into the LIGHT) shows works from national and international museum collections, private collections and corporate collections.
