Exhibition 'Oceania - under construction' in Übersee-Museum
The permanent exhibition Oceania will be under reconstruction from November 1, 2022 and therefore not accessible during the time of construction. The rest of the house and all other exhibitions will of course remain open for visitors!
Within the framework of the future concept of the Übersee-Museum, an innovative permanent exhibition on life and cultures in the Pacific is emerging. An important aspect of the redesign and conception is the communication with the local communities: The team of the Übersee-Museum includes for the first time a co-curator and a scientific intern from Samoa. On March 29, 2025, the exhibition “The Blue Continent – Islands in the Pacific” opens with new stories!
