Exhibition 'Out of paradise. Art, mythology, psychology' in Museum Krona

Medieval statues of saints, tufted Joshua trees, immense spiral paintings and video's of writhing snakes: the exhibition 'Out of paradise. Art, mythology, psychology' connects old and contemporary art and takes the visitor along winding paths. The focus is on 'the journey of man', inspired by the work of depth psychologist C.G. Jung and myth expert Joseph Campbell. Their work has been a source of inspiration for many artists, filmmakers (the 'Hollywood film') and novelists for years.

The exhibition shows medieval masterpieces from the collection of Museum Krona, enriched with unique artworks from various museum collections. These special objects include 'The Prodigal Son' etching by Rembrandt, hermetic books from the Embassy of the Free Mind Collection (formerly Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica or The Ritman Library), illustrations from Dalì's 'Divina Commedia' and works from Bea Verheul's labyrinth collection. These works are connected to contemporary art by Sanne Bax, Charlotte Caspers, Stan Klamer, Juul Kraijer, Ralf Kokke, Yuro Moniz, Thomas Trum, Guido van der Werve. Thanks to partner Special Arts, studio for ‘outsider artists’, work by Guus Schut, Wijnand de Vries, Anna Worrel and Lenneke Zoeteman can also be seen.
