Exhibition 'The Silent Reflection' in Elleboogkerk
Artist Hans Op de Beeck's enigmatic places invite one to find silence and a moment of reflection. In the Elbow Church, he installed a large, gently rippling body of water in which white rocks, reeds and bare trees stand.
In the back wall of the church, he suggests an opening to the outside, as if the white water of a lake ripples into the church. A horizon of hills is visible above which there is a softly glowing representation of the sun. The visitor is invited to take a seat on a stand to stare out over the milky white water to the horizon, letting thoughts flow freely.
The Silent Reflection can be seen until July.
