Exhibition 'The Story of Clare' in Clare Ancient House Museum

This exhibition about the distinctiveness of the small town of Clare has 10 chapters, from Clare Castle, the de Clares and their close connections to English kings and queens, the de Clares who took part in Magna Carta, Elizabeth de Burgh Lady of Clare in the 14th century, Clare Common, Schools in Clare, the Trail of the Clare Arms, Eleven notable Clare residents, the Ancient House itself, and finally to Reflections of 20th-century Clare in the collection of Doris Gregory, who was responsible for nearly ten per cent of the Museum's artefacts. These inform Clare residents and visitors about the most interesting of Clare's historic people, places and events, as well as guiding them to what remains to be visited and explored throughout the town. Booklets and leaflets are available for several of the topics.
