» Watch out for the Ragged Victorians, straight from the pages of Oliver Twist, re-enacting the other side of Victorian lowlife around the site all weekend

» Be transported to Charles Dickens’ time as Andy Jennings transforms into the master storyteller, and reads from his best-known works

» Be amazed by the Palace of Curiosities: a Victorian fairground show full of fun and fascination, including the mysterious Marcus Island Mermaid

» Step up for army drills and parades with the crimson-jacketed Diehards – soldiers of the Victorian Military Society

» Enter a world of Snake oil and shenanigans – stories of Victorian medicine, dentistry and quackery from the inimitable Neil Storey

» Take tea with HM Queen Victoria. You won’t forget our sumptuous afternoon tea or the lessons in royal etiquette that precede it. Spaces very limited;

» Discover the secrets hidden in old military snaps with ‘Who Do You Think You Are? expert’ Graham Bandy – bring your own family snaps along

» Wonder at the gorgeous display of Victorian fashion from historical costumier Izabela Pitcher

» Take home a souvenir from our Victorian traders, including fossils (fashionable at the time), clothing and jewellery
