Milton Keynes Museum and its collection

Milton Keynes Museum
Source

Milton Keynes Museum is located in Stacey Hill Farm, built early in the Victorian era as a model farm. It is located on the outskirts of Wolverton, one of the UK's original "railway towns". Today the buildings overlook the "new city" of Milton Keynes. When they were built they were in the middle of the countryside. The Museum’s local social history collection allows visitors to experience the area’s domestic, industrial, agricultural and transport heritage. Historic telephones and switchboards, Victorian Parlour, schoolroom, toy room, laundry, kitchen, Anderson shelter, street of period shops, brass rubbing, chapel and hall of transport.

Daventry Demcafe memory support group visited the Milton Keynes museum yesterday. Oh what a joy to visit, a truly wonderful hidden treasure in the beautiful countryside of Wolverton. So much to see, learn and in our case reminisce and talk about, then a lovely lunch in the teashop served by the most lovely volunteers who couldn't have been more caring and helpful. We can't thank them and the wonderful volunteers who acted as our guides enough, it was a great experience for us all. As one of our members said on arriving back home 'It had been one of those days that left you with a warm glow'. Well done to everyone at the museum and thank you 😊

An absolutely lovely place to visit with so many interesting things to see. Also has several lovely weekend events. Wonderful cafeteria with what must be an unrivalled selection of cakes at great prices. Plenty of space even on special event days, and a great place to picnic. This is a place where you can really feel you’ve got away from the hustle and bustle of life.
