From thrilling concerts in magnificent halls to wild evenings in tents and on ships, Kassel has made music history – and it hasn't always been quiet! Kassel has made music history, and not always in a quiet way! The press reported on enthusiastic audiences, as well as riots. But where has it all gone?
Our exhibition brings these places back to life, from the legendary Court Theatre, where Spohr once conducted, to the Tenne in Bettenhausen and the City Hall in western Kassel, and on to the Theaterstübchen in the city centre. Thanks to the numerous posters, photos, and other surprising exhibits provided by contemporary witnesses, we can take you on a journey through time.
