Dresden is a city in Germany, located on the river Elbe. The city was heavily bombed several times during the Second World War. These bombings almost completely destroyed the old Baroque styled city center.
A famous sight in Dresden, in addition to the variety of museums, is the Frauenkirche. This church was built between 1726 and 1743, but was unfortunately destroyed during the Second World War. In 2005 the church was completely rebuilt in its original state.
