The Agorà della Scherma is a unique museum dedicated entirely to the art, science, history, and culture of fencing. It is located in Busto Arsizio, housed in the former Cotonificio Bustese. The Longhi Collection
The main part of the Agorà della Scherma museum is the Longhi collection, donated by the Florentine psychiatrist Silvio Longhi. This collection consists of hundreds of objects related to fencing, including foils, sabers, sports swords, dueling and military use swords, bayonets, training equipment for fencers, masks, gloves, and plastrons. This extensive collection provides a comprehensive overview of the history and evolution of fencing equipment.
The Nedo Nadi Collection
In addition to the Longhi collection, the Agorà della Scherma museum also houses pieces from the personal collection of Nedo Nadi, a renowned fencer. These pieces were purchased by the museum curator, Giancarlo Toràn. This collection adds another dimension to the museum, showcasing personal items from a prominent figure in the world of fencing.
