The Museo d'Arte Moderna Pagani, also known as the Pagani Museum, is an open-air exhibition space located in Castellanza, a city in the province of Varese, Lombardy. This museum is dedicated to the artist Enzo Pagani, who wanted its creation. It is situated in a vast green area of about 40,000 m² and hosts sculptures and mosaics from various artists belonging to different currents of modern and contemporary art.
The Museo d'Arte Moderna Pagani was founded in 1957 and inaugurated in 1968, making it the first park museum to be established in Italy. This unique concept allows visitors to enjoy art in an open, natural setting, enhancing the overall experience.
The Museo d'Arte Moderna Pagani houses 650 works of art, including many testimonies of the historical avant-gardes of the 20th century. These works are exclusively mosaics and sculptures, made with different materials such as marble, stone, bronze, iron, steel, wood, glass, etc. This makes the museum a unique collection of its kind, both in terms of its number and the importance of the artists represented.
