American Bookbinders Museum and its collection

American Bookbinders Museum

We tell the story of the book as a physical object, preserving and promoting the art and history of Western bookbinding, from the hand processes of the 16th century through the mechanization of the 19th century. Through tours, hands-on experiences, and exposure to the materials, techniques, and technology of bookbinding we promote a deeper understanding of the impact of book production on the American experience.
