The house is a real gem! With a modernist design, the "Axarquía House Museum" houses an extensive ethnographic collection. It is a unique and striking five story building constructed mainly from demolition materials from other old houses that fell in disrepair, and with a colorful roof topped by a large wind vane hoe on the top. The incredible exhibition inside is a unique space where you can explore the traditions, tools, and works of art that have shaped the history of the region. Evaristo Guerra and Francisco Hernandez (Paco) are just some of the painters featured. The wood carvings depicting the region's distinctive features (wine, vines, chameleons, and farming tools). Explore the culture and traditions of Axarquía with a guided tour of the "Casa Museo de la Axarquía", a unique museum housed constructed by the local artist Antonio Montañez, known as the "Gaudí of Axarquía".
