The Belfry of Bruges, a iconic medieval bell tower in the heart of Bruges, Belgium, offers visitors a blend of history and breathtaking views. Standing at 83 meters tall, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a testament to the city's rich past and architectural prowess.

Many visitors appreciate the tower's historical significance and the opportunity to climb to the top. The 366 steps to reach the summit are frequently mentioned as challenging but rewarding. Once at the top, tourists are treated to panoramic views of Bruges and its picturesque canals, which many describe as spectacular and well worth the effort.

The tower's carillon, consisting of 47 bells, is a highlight for many. Visitors often enjoy hearing the bells ring and learning about their history and mechanics. The small museum within the tower, showcasing the old clock mechanism and treasury, adds educational value to the experience.

However, some visitors find the climb daunting, especially for those with mobility issues or fear of heights. The narrow, steep stairs and occasional waiting times during busy periods are mentioned as potential drawbacks. A few reviewers also note that the information provided could be more comprehensive.

Despite these minor issues, the majority of visitors find the Belfry to be an essential part of experiencing Bruges. The combination of historical significance, architectural beauty, and stunning views makes it a popular attraction. The entry fee is generally considered reasonable for the experience offered.

Overall, the Belfry of Bruges provides a memorable experience that combines physical challenge with cultural and historical insights, topped off with unparalleled views of the city.

Zeer mooi! Echt het pareltje van Brugge. Centrum van de stad. Bruist van energie op het plein ervoor. Met 'volgens de lokale bevolking' de beste friet kraam van de wereld voor de deur. Zeer goed bewaard gebleven erfgoed van België.
