The Casa de las Bolas Museum in Aranda de Duero, Burgos, is home to a collection of European paintings spanning from the 17th to the 20th century. These works were generously donated to the City Council by mining engineer Félix Cañada Guerrero, who spent his childhood in the city. This collection provides a unique insight into the evolution of European art over several centuries.
In addition to its permanent collection, the Casa de las Bolas Museum also offers temporary exhibitions and artistic creation proposals. These rotating exhibits provide an opportunity for visitors to experience a variety of artistic styles and periods, and to engage with contemporary artistic practices.
The Casa de las Bolas Museum is housed in a restored 15th-century building, which retains some of its original architectural elements. These include the semicircular arch of the facade, a Gothic window with a ball sill, and a double cornice, the lower one adorned with balls - a feature that gives the house its name. This historical building adds an extra layer of charm and authenticity to the museum experience.
