Castle De Haar has 5 ratings.
Castle De Haar, located in Haarzuilens, the Netherlands, is a stunning example of neo-Gothic architecture that offers visitors a glimpse into Dutch nobility's past. The castle, originally dating back to the 14th century but extensively renovated in the late 19th century, impresses with its grand exterior and opulent interiors. Visitors often praise the well-preserved rooms, each showcasing intricate details, period furniture, and art collections. The castle's surrounding gardens and park are equally captivating, featuring meticulously manicured landscapes, water features, and a Roman garden. Many reviewers appreciate the audio guide, which provides insightful information about the castle's history and its former inhabitants. The seasonal decorations, especially during Christmas, add an extra layer of charm to the already magical atmosphere. However, some visitors note that the admission price is relatively high, and during peak seasons, the castle can get crowded, potentially impacting the overall experience. A few reviewers also mention that some areas of the castle are not accessible to those with mobility issues. Despite these minor drawbacks, Castle De Haar is generally regarded as a worthwhile destination for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and those seeking a picturesque day trip from nearby Utrecht or Amsterdam.

Aanrader!
