The Château de Lauzun was purchased in 1990 by M. and M Pierre Baron. Over the course of 15 years, they meticulously restored the château and eventually opened it to the public for tours and visits.
The Château de Lauzun has been recognized as a historical monument due to its two monumental fireplaces and a votive Roman altar located in the park. This classification was made on May 1, 1923. Later, on October 1, 1963, the entirety of the château's facades and roofs were also classified as historical monuments.
