The George Clayson House is a historical Second Empire home located at 224 East Palatine Road in Palatine, Illinois. Built in 1873, the house has been meticulously restored to reflect its appearance during the period of 1890-1900. This offers visitors a unique glimpse into the architectural and cultural history of the late 19th century.
The George Clayson House was purchased by the Palatine Public Library in 1975 with the intention of preserving it as a public museum. The Palatine Historical Society was tasked with its rehabilitation and maintenance. In recognition of its historical significance, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the National Park Service on March 21, 1979.
