Dover Castle and its collection

Dover Castle
Source

Dover Castle, located in the town of Dover in the English county of Kent, is a medieval castle that was constructed in the 11th century. Known as the 'Key to England' due to its historical defensive significance, it is the largest castle in England. The castle has been used in several films and TV series, making it a popular tourist destination.

Remodeling and Tunnel Construction at Dover Castle

During the Napoleonic Wars, the castle underwent remodeling. A tunnel was dug from the castle to some barracks outside the castle area, providing a quick and efficient way for soldiers to enter the area. This tunnel, completed in 1803, is a unique feature of the castle.
