The Architectural Legacy of King Christian IV

Restoration and Establishment of the National Historical Museum

Frederiksborg Castle underwent a complete restoration after a devastating fire in 1859. This restoration was made possible through the financial support of Danish industrialist Jacob Christian Jacobsen. In 1878, Carl Jacobson established the National Historical Museum within the castle, further enhancing its cultural and historical significance.
