Since Nuremberg is the city of Albrecht Durer,Durer's Paintings are the highlight of this superb museum.Paintings by Albrecht Durer that especially fascinated me were"Portrait of Charlemagne","Portrait of Michael Wolgemut","Lamentation", "Portrait of Barbara Durer".,and"Portrait of Emperor Maximillian the First" Other German Renaissance Paintings that were sources of delectation were Wolf Traut's"Wings of Altarpiece With Saints Barbara and John The Evangelist",Michael Wolgemut's"Portrait of A Nuremberg Apothecary",Jorg Breu the Elder's"Lamentation",Albrecht Altdorfer's"Panels of the Legend of Saint Florian",Hans Pleydenwurff's"Descent From the Cross of Saint Elizabeth's in Wroclaw",Lucas Cranach the Elder's"Unequal Couple",Martin Schaffner's"Adoration of Magi",and Hans Baldung Grien's" Judith with Head of Holofernes".,among others. At the Germanisches Museum, labelling of their fine works of Art is in English,as well as German. The curatorial at this museum is worthy of approbation.
