Located in the beautiful town hall building, the museum showcases an impressive collection of tapestries, for which Oudenaarde was once famous. The exhibits are well-organized and provide informative displays on local history, including the town's medieval past and its role in various conflicts.

Visitors often appreciate the museum's blend of traditional and interactive elements, which helps to engage a wide range of audiences. The audio guide, available in multiple languages, is frequently mentioned as a helpful tool for understanding the exhibits in depth. The tapestry collection is a highlight for many, with its intricate designs and historical significance clearly explained.

On the downside, some visitors find the museum relatively small, and it may not take as long to explore as they initially expected. A few reviewers mention that certain areas of the museum could benefit from more detailed explanations or translations.

The museum's location in the historic town hall is generally seen as a positive, with many visitors enjoying the opportunity to explore this architectural gem. However, accessibility might be an issue for some, as the building has multiple floors and may not be fully equipped for visitors with mobility challenges.
