Hotelmuseum Arthur Merghelynck and its collection

The Hotel-Museum Merghelynck is housed in a hotel built in 1774. In 1894, Arthur Merghelynck opened his private museum here on the lifestyle of the nobility in the 18th century. Among other things, the museum displays French-style furniture, paintings, silverware and a collection of Chinese and Japanese porcelain in dressed "salons" and "boudoirs. The coach houses exhibit the archaeological collection of Ypres. This collection consists of about 800 objects from the Middle Ages illustrating the ups and downs of the cloth industry.
