Landgoed Borg Verhildersum is a charming estate located in Leens, the Netherlands, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's history and rural life. The museum complex consists of a 14th-century borg (a fortified manor house), beautifully landscaped gardens, and a working farm.

The manor house itself is well-preserved and features period furnishings, giving visitors an authentic look at how the local nobility lived in past centuries. The rooms are thoughtfully arranged, and many guests appreciate the informative displays that provide context about the estate's history and its former inhabitants.

The gardens surrounding the borg are a highlight for many visitors. They are meticulously maintained and showcase a variety of plants and flowers, making for a pleasant stroll in any season. The kitchen garden, in particular, receives praise for its historical accuracy and educational value.

The working farm on the estate adds an interactive element to the visit. Visitors can observe traditional farming practices and sometimes even participate in seasonal activities. This aspect of the museum is especially popular with families and those interested in agricultural history.

While many visitors find the staff friendly and knowledgeable, some reviews mention that not all information is available in English, which can be a drawback for international tourists. Additionally, a few visitors have noted that some areas of the estate could benefit from minor renovations or updates.

The museum offers various events and exhibitions throughout the year, which are generally well-received and add value to repeat visits. However, some visitors suggest checking the schedule in advance to make the most of these special programs.

Overall, Landgoed Borg Verhildersum provides an engaging and educational experience for those interested in Dutch history, architecture, and rural life. Its combination of historical buildings, gardens, and a working farm creates a well-rounded attraction that appeals to a wide range of visitors.
