The Monastery of San Isidoro del Campo in Santiponce, located in the province of Seville in Andalusia, Spain, has a rich history dating back to the early 14th century. It was founded by Alonso Pรฉrez de Guzmรกn, also known as Guzmรกn the Good, and his wife Marรญa Alfonso Coronel. The monastery was established on the site of a Mozarabic hermitage, where, according to tradition, Isidore of Seville was originally buried.
The Monastery of San Isidoro del Campo underwent restoration in 2002, preserving its historical and architectural significance. The complex features two churches, one of which houses the tomb of the founders. The monastery also boasts two cloisters in the Mudรฉjar style, a sacristy from the 17th century, and a refectory from the 14th century, richly decorated during the time of the Hieronymites.
