The Musée du Donon, located on the summit of Donon in the commune of Grandfontaine, is a former museum and an archaeological site of a Gallo-Roman sanctuary. This location in the French department of Bas-Rhin is northwest of Schirmeck and southeast of Sarrebourg. The museum was once home to artifacts found on site, but it has since been closed and the collections transferred to museums in Strasbourg and Épinal.
Research indicates that the Donon, where the Musée du Donon is located, has been a site of human activity for 5000 years. During the Celtic era, the site was considered sacred, and remains from this period, including an enclosing wall, cisterns, and foundations, have been discovered. In the Gallo-Roman era, the summit of Donon became a sanctuary dedicated to Mercury. Artifacts such as steles, ex-voto, and statues, as well as the remains of three temples and columns, were found on the site.
