Currently, the museum is located in a neoclassical building from 1753 in the Barrio Alto. Here, visitors can view a variety of exhibits, including Visigothic pieces, items from the Andalusian farmhouses of El Puerto, and ceramics from the 16th and 17th centuries. The building itself, with its historical architecture, adds to the overall experience of the museum visit.
The museum is divided into two main sections: Archaeology and Fine Arts. The Archaeology section offers a fascinating look into the region's past, with exhibits featuring local Paleontology (whales, sharks, mastodons), Paleolithic pieces from El Aculadero, and Neolithic-Chalcolithic materials from the Pocito Chico and Cantarranas sites. The Fine Arts section showcases the works of local painters and sculptors, providing a glimpse into the artistic heritage of the region.
