The Museo Regional de Guerrero, located in the city of Chilpancingo de los Bravo, Guerrero, is a historical building constructed in 1902 during the presidency of Porfirio Díaz. This museum has served various roles throughout its history, including as the Government Palace of the State of Guerrero until 1972, and as the Municipal Palace until 1985. In 1986, it was declared a Historic Monument and the following year, it was inaugurated as the Museo Regional de Guerrero, which continues to operate to this day.
The Museo Regional de Guerrero features two permanent exhibition halls and one for temporary exhibitions. These spaces showcase a variety of artifacts and works of art, providing visitors with a comprehensive view of the region's history and culture. The museum's collection includes over 4,200 pieces, including important archaeological and historical collections, lithic pieces, seashells, metals, ceramics, codices, a helmet, sacred art from the 16th to the 18th centuries, altarpieces, liturgical books, polychrome dishes, and glass and ceramic crafts influenced by the Purépecha culture.
