From Roman settlement to the development of Canary Wharf, the Museum of London Docklands, housed in a 200 year old warehouse, shows the history of London as a port through stories of trade, migration and commerce. Many of the objects it has in its collection are from the museum and archives of the Port of London Authority. The museum displays its collection of historical artifacts, models, and pictures in chronological order in 12 galleries. Visitors start at the first port on the Thames in Roman times and ends in modern times with the transformation of the area with commercial and residential development.

The Museum of London Docklands offers a comprehensive look at the history of London's river, port, and people. Located in a renovated 19th-century warehouse, the museum provides visitors with a journey through time, from the Roman settlement to the present day.
Exhibits cover various aspects of London's maritime history, including the city's involvement in the sugar and slave trades, the development of the docks, and the impact of World War II on the area. Many visitors appreciate the interactive displays and the use of artifacts to bring history to life.
The museum receives praise for its informative and well-organized displays, which cater to both adults and children. The "Sailortown" exhibit, recreating the atmosphere of 19th-century Wapping, is often highlighted as a particularly engaging experience. The museum also offers temporary exhibitions that explore specific themes in greater depth.
While generally well-received, some visitors note that certain areas of the museum can feel cramped during busy periods. Additionally, a few reviewers mention that some exhibits could benefit from updates or more in-depth information.
The museum's location in Canary Wharf provides context to the exhibits, although some visitors find it slightly out of the way compared to more central London attractions. However, many agree that the journey is worthwhile for those interested in London's maritime history.
