Museum of the Memory of the City

The Museum of the Memory of the City is situated in the Casa Viola, a part of the Manzana de la Rivera architectural complex. This location is directly opposite the Government Palace in Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay. The museum offers a unique opportunity to delve into the history of Asuncion through its various exhibits and collections.

Collection of the Museum

The Museum of the Memory of the City houses a diverse collection of objects that have been gathered from various cities around the world, including New York, Madrid, Paris, Montevideo, and Buenos Aires. These objects provide a unique insight into the history and culture of Asuncion and Paraguay.

Exhibits at the Museum

The Museum of the Memory of the City showcases various elements of the Guarani culture, including a pre-Hispanic funerary. Visitors can also see a genealogical tree of illustrious men and women of the nation, paintings by various Paraguayan artists, and geographical, statistical and historical maps. The museum also houses plans of Asuncion and neighboring countries from the 17th and 18th centuries, furniture and objects from the colonial era, shields, candelabras, scores, magazines, newspapers, books, and various construction elements.
