Naper Settlement is an outdoor history museum that was established in 1969. It is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and spans across 12 acres. The museum consists of a collection of thirty historical buildings and structures that originate from the Naperville, Illinois area.
Many of the buildings at Naper Settlement were relocated from their original locations. They have been refurbished to reflect the style of their respective time periods, ranging from 1831, when Naperville was founded, to the early 20th century.
Visitors to Naper Settlement can participate in hands-on activities and tours. These tours are led by museum educators who are dressed in period costumes.
