The National Palace of Sintra, also known in Portuguese as Palácio da Vila, is situated in the parish of São Martinho in Sintra. This former royal palace is now owned by the Portuguese state and is used for tourism and cultural purposes. It's an urban palace that began construction in the early 16th century, with its architect remaining unknown. The palace is a part of the 'Cultural Landscape of Sintra', declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995.

These include the Sala dos Archeiros, Sala Moura (or Arab Room), Sala das Pegas, Sala dos Cisnes, and Sala dos Brasões, which displays the representation of the arms of 72 Portuguese noble families and the eight sons of D. Manuel I. Other significant rooms include the Sala das Sereias and Sala da Audiência. The palace's chapel, with a rectangular plan and a single nave, features walls adorned with ornamental paintings and a wooden ceiling. In the kitchen, visitors can see the octagonal bases of the monumental chimneys.
