With stories rooted in local history, discover fascinating facts and get hands-on with history. The Museum is free to visit and is Newton Abbot’s top all-weather experience. Our exhibits lead you back in time to uncover what the Romans left in Highweek, how our World War II allies formed ‘Little Poland’ in Stover and how rats ruined Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s grand plans. With more than 20 interactive activities, our reception team are always on hand to help guide you. Our seasonal trails and exhibitions are free to all and lead you through remarkable stories that delve into topics like the railway, insects and butterflies, and Victorian Newton Abbot. You can even visit and climb to the top of 800-year-old St Leonards Tower on selected days from May to September. We’re open Tuesdays to Saturdays and welcome visitors of all ages in our accessible building.
