The Niederlausitzer Museumseisenbahn e.V. (NLME) is a society of railway enthusiasts located in Sonnewalde. It was the proprietor and operator of the FinsterwaldeโCrinitz railway line, which was used for museum purposes in the Elbe-Elster district in Brandenburg.
The NLME was established on April 1, 1995, as a non-profit organization. The association's objective is to build and operate a museum railway on the former DR route from Finsterwalde to Crinitz, and to preserve or reconstruct historically significant artifacts of regional railway history.
The NLME has gained significant recognition in the region through its biennial railway station festival and other activities, particularly the trips to the annual pottery market in Crinitz.
The museum train comprises two passenger cars of Prussian design, restored to their original state, a luggage car from a Prussian narrow-gauge railway, and a combined passenger and luggage car from the DR. Additional cars, such as a conversion car of DB design, a bicycle car, and a salon car, can be used for reinforcement. The association also owns several freight cars, some of which date back to the era of the state railways.
