The Odunpazarı Modern Museum (OMM) is nestled among the historic Odunpazarı houses in Eskişehir. This museum was the brainchild of Eskişehir-born architect and collector Erol Tabanca. The foundation stone for the museum was laid in February 2018 by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who also inaugurated it on September 7, 2019.
The three-story building of the museum, which includes exhibition areas, workshops, various event venues, a cafe, and a museum shop, spans an area of approximately 4,500 m². The design was crafted by the globally renowned Japanese architecture office Kengo Kuma and Associates (KKAA), presenting a modern interpretation of Japanese and Ottoman architecture.
The museum hosts temporary exhibitions that showcase works from various disciplines of art. Additionally, it offers educational programs designed to strengthen the connection between different age groups and the museum and art.

Odunpazarı Modern Müze has 1 rating.
Odunpazarı Modern Müze (OMM) in Eskisehir, Turkey, is a contemporary art museum that has quickly become a cultural landmark since its opening in 2019. The museum's striking architecture, designed by Kengo Kuma, is often praised as a work of art itself, with its stacked wooden blocks inspired by the traditional Ottoman houses of the Odunpazarı district.
Visitors consistently appreciate the museum's diverse collection of modern and contemporary art, featuring both Turkish and international artists. The exhibitions are regularly rotated, offering fresh experiences for repeat visitors. Many reviewers highlight the thoughtful curation and the way the artworks interact with the unique spaces within the building.
The museum's integration with its surroundings is another point of praise. Its location in the historic Odunpazarı neighborhood adds to the overall experience, allowing visitors to explore the area's charming streets and traditional architecture before or after their museum visit.
While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some visitors mention that the museum is relatively small compared to major art institutions in larger cities. However, this is often countered by the quality of the exhibitions and the overall experience.
The staff is generally described as helpful and knowledgeable, contributing to a pleasant visit. Some international visitors note that not all information is available in English, which can be a minor inconvenience.
Accessibility is well-regarded, with the museum being equipped with elevators and ramps. The rooftop area, offering views of Eskisehir, is frequently mentioned as a highlight of the visit.
In summary, Odunpazarı Modern Müze is widely regarded as a valuable addition to Eskisehir's cultural scene, offering a high-quality contemporary art experience in a uniquely designed setting.
