The centerpiece of the museum is the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier, which allows guests to explore various decks and get a feel for life at sea. Many visitors appreciate the well-preserved aircraft and naval vessels on display, including the USS Laffey destroyer and the USS Clamagore submarine.

The museum provides a comprehensive look at different eras of naval warfare, from World War II to the Vietnam War. Interactive exhibits and informative displays help bring history to life, making it educational for both adults and children. The Medal of Honor Museum within the complex is often highlighted as a moving and thought-provoking experience.

While most visitors find the museum engaging and worth the price of admission, some mention that certain areas of the ships can be difficult to navigate, especially for those with mobility issues. The outdoor nature of much of the exhibit means that weather can impact the experience, with some areas becoming hot during summer months.

The Vietnam Experience Exhibit receives particular praise for its authenticity and attention to detail. Many visitors recommend allocating at least 3-4 hours to fully appreciate all the museum has to offer, as there is a wealth of information and exhibits to explore.

Some visitors note that certain areas of the ships and some exhibits could benefit from updates or renovations. However, the majority find the museum to be well-maintained overall and staffed by knowledgeable and friendly volunteers, many of whom are veterans willing to share their personal experiences.

In summary, the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum provides a comprehensive and educational look at naval history, offering visitors a chance to explore real naval vessels and aircraft.
