The Municipal Palace, located in the heart of Plasencia in the Plaza Mayor, serves as the headquarters of the municipality's City Hall. This historic building is a significant landmark in the city and offers a glimpse into the rich history and architectural heritage of Plasencia.
The Municipal Palace features a double Renaissance arch on its left side, adorned with the shield of Charles I of Spain. On the other side of the building, a bell tower houses the city's symbol, the Abuelo Mayorga. This automaton chimes the hours for the city's inhabitants, adding a unique charm to the building.
Inside the Municipal Palace, visitors can admire the door of the Chapel and the Archive of 1569. Additionally, a commemorative inscription of the capture of Granada by the Catholic Monarchs can be seen. This inscription was originally located above the door of Talavera until its destruction.
