POMO Museum is situated in the West Terminus station of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Built in 1908, the station served the Port Moody community and the station masters who lived in here until 1976. Our museum opened July 1st, 1983, with the aim to benefit and educate Port Moody citizens on the history of the city they live in. Besides exploring our train station and 1921 first class sleeper car, our permanent exhibitions dive into the industries and immigrants that built this community. Each year we host a temporary display to keep Port Moody curious. Today, we offer a variety of programs, events, rentals, and exhibits for all to enjoy—featuring our favourites such as, Junior Detectives, Box Car Kids, and Tea on the Train. We have dedicated volunteers from the Port Moody Heritage Society and local community members that play a crucial role in preserving our history and who help to create a memorable experience for visitors.
