The Rathausmuseum Sempach is a local history museum situated in the late medieval town hall of the city of Sempach, in the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland. The museum was reopened in 2014 after extensive renovations. It offers a unique opportunity to explore the history of the city and the region from the late Middle Ages to the 21st century.
The museum's exhibition, inaugurated on June 19, 2014, provides a comprehensive overview of the history of Sempach from the late Middle Ages to the 21st century. A special section in the attic is dedicated to the Battle of Sempach and the culture of remembrance associated with it. This includes the current state of knowledge about the circumstances and course of the battle, the myth of the battle hero Arnold Winkelried, and the evolution of the annual commemorative celebrations.
