The Nouragues Nature Reserve, established in 1995, is a significant French nature reserve located in French Guiana. It spans an impressive 1,000 square kilometres (390 sq mi) and is dedicated to the protection of tropical rainforest in the communes of Régina and Roura.
Public access to the Nouragues Nature Reserve is restricted and requires authorisation. The CNRS operates two permanent camps on the Nouragues Inselberg, which host approximately 40 expeditions annually. These camps provide an excellent location for studying the rainforest and its biodiversity. Access to the camps is possible via helicopter or by boat from Saut Pararé.
