Rufford Old Hall, located in Rufford, Lancashire, England, is a property managed by the National Trust. The hall was constructed around 1530 for Sir Robert Hesketh. Of the original structure, only the Great Hall remains intact today.

Architectural Additions to Rufford Old Hall

In 1661, a brick-built wing in the Jacobean style was added to the Rufford Old Hall, positioned at right angles to the Great Hall. A third wing was later added in the 1820s, further expanding the structure of the hall.

Design of Rufford Old Hall

The timber-framed hall house, which includes the Great Hall, was built for Sir Robert Hesketh around 1530. The design of the hall follows a late medieval pattern that continued to be used during the Tudor period.
