St. Peter an der Sperr, once a Dominican monastery, is now a significant historical site in Wiener Neustadt, Lower Austria. The former church building, which is no longer used for religious purposes, has been repurposed as an exhibition space. City Museum and Monastery Garden
The former Dominican monastery has been transformed into the Wiener Neustadt City Museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the city's rich history. Renovations and Improvements
In preparation for the Lower Austria State Exhibition 2019, the museum underwent significant renovations. The Mayor's Garden, the forecourt, and the entrance portal were all redesigned, enhancing the overall visitor experience. Additionally, new passages were created between the former city museum and the museum church St. Peter an der Sperr, and the monastery corridors were revitalized, making the site more accessible and engaging for visitors.
