Villa Faraggiana is a historic residence dating back to the 18th century. It is located in Albissola Marina, in the province of Savona. This villa was originally built as a home for the noble Durazzo family and is now owned by the Municipality of Novara. The villa has been open to the public for visits and exhibitions since 1968.
One of the notable features of Villa Faraggiana is the gallery called "delle Stagioni". This gallery was built in 1750 and is characterized by fresco cycles with episodes from the life of Diana on the vaults. It also features carved sculptures by the Genoese sculptor Filippo Parodi, dating back to 1667, and a characteristic polychrome majolica tile floor.
The vast garden of Villa Faraggiana is a blend of different styles. It combines elements of the Italian garden, with precise symmetrical interventions and arrangement of sculptures and fountains, with those of the French garden, where the garden designs are studied to allow a wide view of the entire area. The garden also features a practical adaptation due to the characteristic Ligurian "terraces" morphology.
