Weißenstein Castle, also known as Burgruine Weißenstein in German, is a historical site located in the municipality of Weißenstein, in the borough of Regen, Bavaria. The castle is situated on a quartz ridge known as the Pfahl, at an elevation of 758 metres. Although it is now in ruins, the castle's rich history and unique location make it a fascinating destination for visitors.
Since 1996, the town of Regen has owned the ruins of Weißenstein Castle. Between 1991 and 1995, significant renovations were carried out to make the site accessible to the public. Today, visitors can explore the castle ruins and learn about its historical significance.
