The Dresden Zoo (Zoo Dresden) is a zoo in Dresden in Germany that is Germany's fourth oldest zoo, opened in 1861. The Dresden Zoo is located in the Großer Garten, a city park in Dresden. The zoo is home to around 3,000 animals representing around 400 species. The zoo is especially known for its Asian animals.

Opening hours

Open all year round (including public holidays):
In spring (from 16.02.2019) - 8.30 am to 5.30 pm

In summer (from 31.03.2019) Only open until 16:30 on the 8th of June - 8.30am to 6.30pm

In autumn (from 04.10.2019) - 8.30 am to 5.30 pm

In winter (from 01.11.2019) - 8.30 am to 4.30 pm
On 24.12. and 31.12. open until 3 pm and 2 pm closing time

45 minutes before the closure of the zoo is closed.
