Charlestown is the oldest neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts, founded in 1628. This historic district, located on a peninsula north of the Charles River, played a significant role in early American history.

The area is perhaps best known as the site of the Battle of Bunker Hill during the American Revolution, commemorated by the iconic Bunker Hill Monument that stands today. The neighborhood retains much of its colonial-era charm with its brick row houses and narrow streets. The area is also home to the USS Constitution, the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world, which is berthed at the Charlestown Navy Yard.
