Forst (Lausitz) is a town located in the eastern part of Brandenburg, Germany, near the Polish border along the Neisse River. Historically, the town was known as a significant textile manufacturing center, earning it the nickname "Little Manchester" during its industrial heyday in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The textile industry shaped much of the town's architectural and cultural heritage, with numerous historic factory buildings and workers' settlements still visible today.

While the textile industry has declined, Forst maintains several cultural institutions and historic sites that document its industrial past. The town is also known for its rose garden (Rosengarten), one of the largest in Germany, which has been a cultural landmark since 1913 and attracts visitors interested in both horticulture and local history.
