Government Camp is an unincorporated community situated on the south side of Mount Hood in Clackamas County, Oregon. Located at an elevation of approximately 4,000 feet (1,200 m), this mountain village has long served as a hub for outdoor recreation and cultural activities in the Mount Hood area.

The community got its unique name in 1849 when U.S. Army soldiers abandoned their wagons and supplies there during a severe winter storm. Today, Government Camp serves as a gateway to year-round recreational activities, including skiing at the nearby Mount Hood Skibowl, Timberline Lodge, and Mount Hood Meadows. The village maintains its historical character through its alpine-style architecture and various heritage sites that preserve the story of early Oregon mountain culture and tourism.
