Grünhain-Beierfeld is a town in the Erzgebirgskreis district of Saxony, Germany. Located in the western Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge), the town was formed in 1996 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Grünhain and Beierfeld.
The area has a rich history connected to mining, as the Ore Mountains were historically significant for their silver and other metal deposits. The former Grünhain Abbey, founded in the 13th century, played an important role in the medieval development of the region.
Today, the town maintains its connection to traditional crafts and mining heritage, while serving as a residential community in the culturally distinct Erzgebirge region, known for its wooden folk art and Christmas traditions.
